I graduated in Law at the University of Bologna, with full marks and honours, with a thesis in Sociology of Law entitled Gypsies and Disputes: Tradition and Change.
I have an International Master’s degree in Sociology of Law from the International Institute for Sociology of Law, Oñati, Spain (https://www.iisj.net/en), concluded with a thesis entitled Observations on the phenomenon of extra-communitarian immigration in Italy and a PhD in Sociology of Law at the University of Macerata, concluded with a thesis entitled A contribution to the analysis of multicultural society. The legal culture of the Egyptian migrant.
I teach Sociology of Law, Legal Anthropology and Legal Clinic in human rights and social vulnerability at the University of Milan. I have held courses and seminars in master’s and PhD programs at other national and international universities.
I am a member of the Cesare Beccaria Doctorate in Legal Sciences at the University of Milan.
I have participated in and am a member of national and international research projects on migration, human rights, vulnerability, multiculturalism, prison. These are the themes of my publications.
I am a member of several scientific associations and, at the international level, I coordinate (with Barbara G. Bello) the Working group Gender, Law and Society of the Research Committee on Sociology of Law (ISA- International Sociological Association.
